Last year, we shared a post on the Peepshow about SweeTango, an exciting new apple we’re helping Next Big Thing, A Growers’ Cooperative launch. The apple has been years in the making. In fact, the SweeTango trees need one more year before they are able to produce enough fruit to have strong national distribution.
However, a few lucky apple lovers may be able to sink their teeth into SweeTango – a cross between the popular HoneyCrisp and the Zestar – sometime next month at select retailers and a few farmers markets. Watch for information in coming weeks regarding its availability.
In the meantime, word is getting out about this delcious new apple with its complex flavor combination and anticipation is building. Check out this story at KARE11.com or this one in the Rochester Post-Bulletin to get a peek at what’s in store. Also become a fan on the SweeTango Facebook page for inside information on where you can find SweeTango.
