Fast Horse Lands Effie Award For Work With Diet Coke

Fast Horse Effie Award Diet Coke

Cyd and Alli smile as Jörg reflects on the victory.

Fast Horse helped Diet Coke make a fashion statement last fall with the rollout of a refreshed can design. Last night, our work for the Diet Coke team won a stylish piece of hardware.

Jörg, Cydney and Allison were on hand at the 3rd annual Shopper Marketing Effie Awards last night in Schaumburg, Ill., and are on their way home to snowy Minnesota with a Silver Effie in the “Manufacturer: Single-Retailer Rollout” category.

The award recognizes Fast Horse’s role in planning and executing the Diet Coke Young Designer Challenge. To celebrate its new cropped logo design, Diet Coke partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America to host a design contest for students. The contest invited students to submit a T-shirt design inspired by the refreshed Diet Coke can. The winner, Gustavo Alonso, won a scholarship and had his T-shirt design sold at Target.

In addition to Fast Horse, the Diet Coke team included Wieden+Kennedy. The winners were announced at the Path to Purchase Institute’s 2013 Shopper Marketing Summit at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel. Effie.org states that the Shopper Marketing Effie Awards “focus on integrated marketing campaigns specifically designed to engage the shopper and guide the purchase process towards a desired end result.”

As always, Fast Horse was proud to work with a great client on a great project. Take a look at this recap of the Diet Coke Younger Designer Challenge:
