Whether it’s working on a project, playing sports or even just completing simple daily tasks, teamwork is one of the most important things in our lives. Each of us can’t do everything all on our own, and none of us would be able to accomplish some of the things we’ve done in life without others. We need teamwork to bounce ideas off each other, split the workload, and most importantly, we need to work together as one to accomplish a common goal.

This week, I had my first opportunity to go visit our client at Wausau Tile, marking my first exposure to the team members who work for Tectura Designs and Wausau Made. As a newer member to the Fast Horse team, the opportunity hadn’t presented itself to go visit the facility and meet the sales reps from across the country until the national sales meeting this week.

From the get-go, the people at Wausau Tile brought me into the fold and made me feel as if I was part of the team. The sales reps immediately recognized a new face, introduced themselves, began bouncing ideas off me and sharing any insights they may have. I could see it instantly when I walked into the room. I could see the communication with one another, the trust between everyone, the responsibility they took as group, and how much they care for and take pride in Tectura Designs and Wausau Made.

The great Mike Krzyeweski – the men’s head basketball coach at Duke University and the head coach of the USA men’s basketball team – once said, “There are five fundamental qualities that make every team great: communication, trust, collective responsibility, caring and pride. I like to think of each as a separate finger on the fist. Any one individually is important. But all of them together are unbeatable.”

That’s what Wausau Tile has going, and it’s so much fun for Fast Horse to be a member of that great team.
