Taylors Falls And Franconia: So Close, So Beautiful

Last Sunday I decided to put down the keyboard and mouse and take a trip to Taylors Falls to enjoy the great outdoors.

I had never been there before and it really is beautiful. We hiked along the River Trail, which is a 1.25-mile trail through Interstate Park. There are little stops along the trail that offer some amazing views. We are planning another trip up there soon to do some camping.

On our way back, we stopped by the Franconia Sculpture Park and snapped a few pictures of some interesting artwork. The Franconia Sculpture Park is a 20-acre lot filled with artwork by local, national, and international artists. It’s located at the intersection of Hwy 8 (Lake Blvd) and Hwy 95 (St. Croix trail) and is free to the public.

Fun note: Our own John Reinan serves on the sculpture park board.
