Newsy Twist On A Trade Event — The International Builders’ Show

ibs_logoEvery year, thousands of builders, vendors, contractors and reporters gather for the International Builders’ Show. The event doesn’t garner the press of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), but it’s no small potatoes. It is THE event for the building industry. Businesses, such as Marvin Windows and Doors plan for this four-day show throughout the entire year.

This morning kicks off the 2011 edition of the show in sunny Orlando, Fla. Each year, Fast Horse helps Marvin Windows and Doors promote its booth and their new products. “Booth” is actually an understatement. Marvin’s home base at the show is 8,000 square feet.

Last year, Marvin took a chance and agreed that in addition to promoting its own windows and doors, it made sense to showcase and discuss other products at the show. Marvin understands that engaging its target consumers means producing useful content — even if that means occasionally talking about someone else’s products and ideas. For last year’s show, we sent John Reinan to see what he could find as a reporter on Marvin’s behalf.

John is back at the show this year and more excited than ever. Seriously. If we had desks, he would have a little calendar where he’d tear off each day leading up to the event. He downloaded the show’s app. He uploaded his calendar. He is ready to cover the latest and greatest at the show.

Check to see his daily finds in the Marvin media room.

Also, we helped Marvin compile a list of the latest and greatest home trends. To compile this list, we sat down and interviewed designers, architects and builders. A sample video is below.
