Roberta Kennedy is on a quest to self-actualize.

“Writer’s block is still something that I struggle with from time to time, but I found that going on a walk, listening to music or simply just writing down anything that comes to mind then later going back to edit always helps.”

When did you discover that you enjoy writing?

During my sophomore year of high school when I took a creative writing class. I remember being excited to learn about the different types of writing, the stories we would be reading, and of course getting a chance to write my own stories.

You covered happenings at Winona State. What’s your trick for getting through writer’s block?

Writer’s block is still something that I struggle with from time to time, but I found that going on a walk, listening to music or simply just writing down anything that comes to mind then later going back to edit always helps.

What is your favorite restaurant in Brooklyn Park?

There’s this restaurant named Mandarin that I’ve visited a few times. It’s a Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant. I highly recommend the pho ga.

What kind of books do you like to read?

My favorite genres are biographies and autobiographies and self-improvement books. I love learning about people and hearing about a person’s life. From a young age I’ve always been intrigued to learn about others and their journey. I also love self-improvement books because I believe in bettering oneself as well as personal growth.
