Last night the marketing industry gathered in force in First Avenue to watch a battle of the bands compete for bragging rights and a pretty sweet trophy, all in the name of supporting diversity in our ranks.
I’m sure our ears are all still ringing from all of the talented musicians that shared the stage last night, ranging from agency bands such as Cherry Cola, Mini Fridge, The Magnetics and One Trick Pony, to our headliners P.O.S., Chastity Brown, Dave Simonette, and Static Panic.
One of my favorite parts of the whole night was the diversity in genres of music, and how excited every agency got when they saw their own coworkers hop onto the stage of First Avenue to share their talents.
As the violinist in One Trick Pony, it was unbelievable to stand on the stage where so many legendary musicians have stood, to be able to see all of First Avenue in its nooks and crannies and to share it with the people that I enjoy and work with every day.
We obviously got a shot of us post-performance, before we leapt back into our various duties of running the show, such as the merchandise table, managing the headliners, and the photo-opp station.
If you missed The Battle and are curious about what song One Trick Pony chose to perform, enjoy this video.
And be sure to check in for a more succinct recap of this glorious \ event, with professional photos from Jake Armour Photography, video from Evan Taylor Studios, and a bunch of other stellar content from all of those who supported us last night.
