They’re Maui-ed!

November 26th, 2008

Congratulations to Fast Horse VP, Scott Broberg, and his long-time girlfriend, Heidi, who snuck off to Hawaii and got hitched last Friday.  While we all suspected that Maui’s finest Justice of the Peace might one day be pressed into service, none of us had a clue that this was anything other than another relaxing Hawaiian vacation [...]

Postcards for “Any Soldier”

September 22nd, 2008

A recent project we’ve been working on at Fast Horse is the launch of a cool program that invites Americans to send hand-written notes of support to “any soldier” - something you haven’t been able to do since 2003 when the Department of Defense cancelled a similar program due to security concerns.
This time around, Coca-Cola’s VAULT brand [...]

Twitter Means Business

September 19th, 2008

That’s the title of a new book due out later this fall from Pioneer Press technology reporter Julio Ojeda-Zapata. Julio was good enough to visit Fast Horse yesterday and lead a fascinating discussion about the business uses of Twitter.
For the uninitiated: Twitter is the leading microblogging service. It allows you to use your computer or phone to post short [...]

Thursday was a beautiful day for an anvil drop. Our neighbor to the south, Gardner Hardware, started the tradition in 2004, heaving a bright-red anvil from the top  of their store, four floors up, onto an unsuspecting car below.
Thanks to Gopher Towing for providing the target! Enjoy the show.
Just another day in the North Loop.

How’re We Doing?

July 31st, 2008

Ed Koch, the former mayor of New York City, was legendary for taking the pulse of his constituents with a cheery “How’m I doing?” as he walked the streets of his beloved city.  New Yorkers are not generally reticent with their opinions, and I’m guessing the good mayor found the tactic to be rather enlightening in [...]

An event took place last summer that immediately entered Fast Horse lore. Someone glanced out the window one afternoon and said, “Hey, there’s some woman in a bikini and chains across the street.” It turned out that she was also wearing fur boots as she draped herself provocatively across a loading dock.

As we looked on, [...]

Fast Horse is throwing a party. You, dear Peepshow reader, are invited.
Our grills will fire up promply at 4:00 PM tomorrow – Thursday, July 17th — and won’t flicker out until the mosquitoes chase us home. We’ll feed you and quench your thirst.  Bring only your Wii Tennis A-Game.
Follow the searchlights to 240 N. 9th Ave. in Minneapolis, [...]

Oh, Baby!

June 24th, 2008

Recently we celebrated the pending arrival of Alli’s baby with a nice shower at French Meadow Café.  I had to laugh as I was reminded of my own baby shower thrown six years ago by my two sole colleagues at Fast Horse – a company that at the time was a baby itself at just [...]

I have a love/hate relationship with marketing industry awards.
On Thursday, Scott and I will make the trek to New York for the annual PRSA Silver Anvil Awards.  We’ve been nominated for some work we did with MacPhail Center for Music.  This marks the third time we’ve been nominated for this “Oscar” of the public relations industry.  Twice [...]
