What’s Your Passion?

October 18, 2017

Or, how about “What’s your major?” If you’re a younger person finishing high school, in college and or about to graduate to full-time employment, knowing exactly what you may want to do with your professional career is a extremely tough decision to make. When I look back at the things I was passionate about and what I was determined to be… the list gets incredibly long:

Very young Jeff

Astronaut Jeff
  • He-Man
  • BMX biker
  • Ninja (turtle-inspired)
  • Construction worker
  • Fireman
  • Teacher
  • Astronaut
  • Veterinarian
  • Professional golfer (I should have stuck with this)
  • Wall Street stockbroker
  • Computer programmer
  • Digital expert

Older/Wiser Jeff

Quite the spectrum of passions, and over time all the experiences that I had with people and my surroundings influenced me and shifted my interests. It wasn’t until three years into college before I realized that I loved computers, the internet, web design and the overall digital experience. I had to make a hard decision to add another major (Management Information Systems) on top of my finance degree, or there was a good chance a year later I was heading to New York to try to pursue a career I really didn’t want to do.

Understanding Your Passion Takes Time

The reason for this post is that I don’t want young professionals to stress any more then they already have to. The thought of how one’s going to pay off $200,000 in school loans is already daunting enough, and then the task of trying to figure out “Where do I fit into this world as a professional” is just added weight.
Integrate Program At Fast Horse

Over the last year here at Fast Horse, a team of diverse individuals from all areas of the company, including myself, have created a program that allows entry-level professionals to get an extremely immersive agency experience before you have to commit to any one specific role. We’re calling this brand-new program Integrate and we’re rolling it out in the next month. The idea is similar to the struggles that I had growing up and figuring out what I wanted to be when I was older. Integrate allows you to be a part of those teams, get real hands-on experiences and then allow you to choose where you feel your passion lies.

This new program is rolling out over the next month, including one of a few launch events happening on Thursday, October 26th at 6 p.m. I highly recommend this if you want the opportunity to learn about Integrate and how it’s designed around giving you the experience and knowledge to pursue a career that’s going to fulfill your passions in your professional career. It’s a program that I wish I had when I graduated from college, so I feel strongly that you’ll love it as well.

If you’re interested in attending our launch event please RSVP today, I’ll be at all the events and would love to chat more with you about it.
