Serendipitous Signs

Hello! My name is Teri and I’m newest member of the team. My title here at Fast Horse is Design Director, and to help you get to know a little more about me, these are just a few of the other labels that I adhere to:

  • Mom. Daughter. Sister. Aunt. Girlfriend.PhotoStrip
  • Dog person AND cat person (currently residing with two canines and three felines).
  • INFP (some people question the validity of MBTI testing, but I’ve preserved the same result for more than 20 years).
  • Blonde. Redhead. Brunette. (Unlike my personality, my hair color changes frequently.)
  • The girl with the art nouveau tattoo.
  • Small-town girl. (And thus, a Journey fan).

I am also a lover of vintage signage.
The typography. The iconography.
The burnt-out neon. The chipped paint.
The rust. The craftsmanship.

Roadside Americana.

It is not uncommon for me to be driving down a new (to me) road only to whip a u-turn, pull over, put the car in park, jump out, dodge traffic and snap some quick photos with my iPhone.

My daughters have become accustomed to this ritual; no more do they ask, “mommy, where are we?” They usually just sigh and continue playing on whatever device is currently holding their attention. (For the record, they’re seven, so there’s no eye rolling yet, but I know it’s imminent…and yes, they are twins).

So, last week, on my very first day at Fast Horse, when I accidentally rediscovered these two photos that I snapped on a trip to London in April, it makes me wonder if the universe was trying to tell me something… maybe some things are meant to be.
