Sept_Sweetango_LAWeeklySo here we are, at your doorstep – or office security desk, reception or cubicle – to deliver a fresh, crisp and delicious treat: the SweeTango apple!

As our most snackable, crunchy and honey-sweet client, SweeTango was developed right here at the University of Minnesota. The offspring of the Honeycrisp and Zestar! varieties, SweeTango is a managed variety grown through the Next Big Thing – a growers’ cooperative with a network of 45 family-owned orchards who share growing practices and quality standards to ensure each apple is to the same quality and consistency. That tasty crunch is just as satisfying season after season.

Only available mid-August through November, SweeTango’s hyper-seasonality makes it a treasured find, and we have fanatics from coast to coast who have a tendency to stalk their produce managers. From acclaimed chefs Andrew Zimmern and Gavin Kaysen to foodies and our blogger friends, fans can’t wait to get their hands on them each fall, and our SweeTango deliveries to these folks have been met with nothing but awe and excitement. Writers at The Daily Meal, our friends at The Huffington Post and even the crew at Conan couldn’t resist SweeTango’s tangy snap and Sept_Sweetango_EmpireStatehoney-sweet finish with each bite.

For the past few years, Fast Horse has had the pleasure of being a partner with SweeTango, and we can’t wait for what’s to come. This year, we’ve helped launch an amazing new website with a social campaign that celebrates the fans. By sharing where you found a SweeTango on social media with the hashtag #SpotSweeTango, fans will not only help grow our new interactive map but are also entered to win a season’s supply of apples and a trip to a SweeTango orchard.

Now how ‘bout them apples! Don’t miss a beat and stay up-to-date on our travels and where you can #SpotSweeTango on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
