Fast Horse Wins Silver Anvil Award

Fast Horse had a great night in New York City. We snagged our first Silver Anvil at the Public Relations Society of America 2011 Silver Anvil Awards Ceremony in New York City.

The award recognizes our efforts to market a great client — ourselves. That’s right, we won in the marketing business-to-business (professional services) category for effectively tooting our own horn, building buzz for Fast Horse, recruiting great talent and generating business leads.

Our entry detailed all we do to tell our story and recruit talent in creative ways, including the Idea Peepshow, our summer intern search, special events such as “Park(ing) Day,” and The Fast Horse Experience on Facebook.

The award is a great honor for a boutique agency like Fast Horse. In the public relations and marketing fields, the Silver Anvil award is a biggie — akin to an Oscar for the movie industry.

Fast Horse was a finalist in two other Silver Anvil categories and took home an “Award of Excellence” in each. Our work on the Coca-Cola Expedition 206 campaign landed us awards in global communications and reputation/brand management. We worked with Coke to send three young travelers to nearly 200 countries last year on a mission to explore what makes people happy. The campaign combined live events, consumer participation and social media tools to build brand loyalty among a specific audience on a global scale.

UPDATE: We also landed some Bronze Anvil recognition, too. (FYI – The Silver Anvils honor overall public-relations/marketing campaigns, while the Bronze Anvils recognize outstanding tactics.) We won two Bronze Anvils and two Bronze Anvil Awards of Commendation. Our anvils came in two categories, creative tactics (Fast Horse summer intern search) and websites (Marvin Windows & Doors online media room).  The commendations came in the editorial/op-ed (a piece for Marvin Windows & Doors about the true cost of layoffs) and research/evaluation categories (digging into the scrapbooking industry for Creative Memories).

UPDATE II: This picture is too awesome not to post.

All in all, a great night. Is it champagne-30 yet?
