If You Haven’t Seen Luis Fitch Or His Work, Here’s Your Chance

If you have never heard of Luis Fitch or seen his work, don’t miss a pair of chances this week.

Luis Fitch is the creative force behind UNO Branding, a Minneapolis-based design shop that does great work for firms trying to connect with Latino populations.

He’s done projects for Target, Mervyn’s, Frito-Lay, Jostens, Kimberly-Clark, MTV Latino and many other top brands. International design and marketing publications often feature his work.

Fitch founded UNO in 1999. I was fortunate to work with him for a short time during the summer of 2009. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but in the end, his influence and impact is proven in my work. One of the ways we stay in touch is via his Facebook page.

Metropolitan State University’s Gordon Parks Gallery is currently exhibiting “Ten Years of Hispanic Posters by Luis Fitch of UNO Branding” through Friday (Nov. 5).

Fitch will speak at MCAD tonight (Nov. 1) at 6:30 p.m. as part of the design school’s visiting artist lecture series.

He’s also speaking tomorrow (Nov. 2) at Metropolitan State University at 12 p.m. as part of the school’s “El Dia de los Muertos” celebration. Fitch will present slides of his posters and talk about the cultural significance of his work.
